Washington: Vice President of the United States and Democratic presidential candidate Kamal Harris has submitted nomination papers for the election.

According to foreign media, US Vice President Kamala Harris submitted officially signed papers to participate in the presidential election.

Vice President Kamala Harris announced her submission of papers on social media platform X.

Kamala Harris posted a picture of herself signing the papers and wrote, "I have officially signed my papers to run for President of the United States. I will work hard to get every single vote and the power of our people in November." The campaign will be successful.

Kamala Harris filed the papers hours after former US President Barack Obama announced his support.

Former US President Obama and his wife have also announced their support for Kamala Harris as a presidential candidate.

In a message on social media, Obama has said that he and his wife are confident that their friend Kamala Harris will be the best president of the United States.

59-year-old Kamala Harris started her campaign after President Joe Biden announced his exit from the presidential race, while US President Joe Biden has also announced his support for Kamala Harris.

If Kamala Harris wins the presidential election in the United States on November 5, she will not only be the first woman president of the United States, but she will also be the first Indian-American to assume the presidential office.
