In the formal confirmation ceremony of the newly elected president in Iran, Supreme Leader Khamenei formally confirmed Masoud Pezeshkian as the president of Iran.

In his message, the Iranian Supreme Leader said that I confirm the vote received by the intelligent, honest and popular leader Masoud Pezeshkian and appoint him as the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In his speech at the ceremony, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei criticized Israel and said that the Zionist government of Israel is not a state, the Zionist government is a gang of criminals, murderers and terrorists.

After the ceremony, Acting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian handed over the presidential responsibilities to 69-year-old Al-Majkiyan, while the new president appointed 72-year-old Arif Raza as his vice president.

A heart surgeon by profession, the newly elected Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has been elected from the Iranian city of Tabriz since 2008. He has also been the Minister of Health during President Khatami's tenure.

It should be noted that Masoud Pezeshkian won the run-off election against the ultra-conservative leader Saeed Jalil on July 5 in the second phase of the general elections held after the death of Iranian President Ibrahim in a helicopter crash.

In the election, the medics managed to get more than 16 million votes, the newly elected Iranian president will take oath in the parliament on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also participate in the swearing-in ceremony of the Iranian president, while 70 foreign guests will participate in the swearing-in ceremony.
