Unprovoked firing by Afghan forces on civilian population in Chaman, 6 Pakistani civilians martyred

6 Pakistani civilians were martyred and 17 injured as a result of the unprovoked firing of heavy weapons by the Afghan border forces on the civilian population in Chaman.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), the Pakistani border forces responded effectively to the aggression of the Afghan border forces but refrained from targeting innocent civilians in the area.

According to ISPR, after the incident, Pakistan also contacted the Afghan authorities in Kabul and demanded strict measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

In this regard, Levies officials further say that the Pak-Afghan border has been closed for all traffic, bilateral trade has been suspended and the customs house has been evacuated.

According to Levies officials, Pakistani freighters and empty trucks are stuck on both sides of the Bab Dosti.
