World's third richest man to donate his wealth to charity

 

Jeff Bezos, one of the richest people in the world, has announced that he will donate most of his wealth to charity.

The Amazon founder, along with his girlfriend Lorraine Sancher, said in an interview with CNN that he plans to donate a large portion of his wealth during his lifetime.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the world's third richest man, Jeff Bezos, currently owns $124 billion.

Jeff Bezos said he plans to dedicate a large portion of his wealth to fighting the climate crisis and supporting people who unite humanity.

He added that the most difficult thing about donating wealth is determining how to use it for the right purposes.

He said that he and his girlfriend are working on it.

Jeff Bezos said 'You have to think carefully about this and build a team of great people'.

This is the first time that Jeff Bezos has pledged to donate a large portion of his wealth to charity.

The Amazon founder has been criticized in the past for not pledging to donate much of his wealth to philanthropic causes like Bill Gates or other billionaires.

Mackenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, pledged to donate her wealth to charity in 2019 and by March 2022, she has donated $12.5 billion to various charities.
